Bucharest 2024 Minischool

"Mathematical methods in Gravitation and Cosmology"

 November 13-17, 2024, Bucharest-Magurele

 

The Minischool is part of the 3rd cycle (2024-2026) of the the CERN – SEENET-MTP – ICTP PhD Training program, which supports participation of advanced MS students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from SEENET-MTP countries and the wider CEE area in a chain of connected, high-level regional schools.

The Minischool on "Mathematical methods in Gravitation and Cosmology" will take place during the period November 14-16, 2024 on the Bucharest - Magurele platform in the National Library of Physics and the seminar room of the Department of Theoretical Physics of the Horia Hulubei Institute located nearby. Participants should plan to arrive in Magurele on the 13th of November and depart on the 17th of November.

Lectures and topics:
 
Eugen Cioroianu (Univ. of Craiova) - "Various Formulations of Gravitational Interaction"
Katarzyna Grabowska (Univ. of Warsaw) - "Contact geometry and applications to high energy physics"
Calin Lazaroiu (IFIN-HH & UNED Madrid) - "Towards testing quantum gravity using cosmological observations"
Rafal Suszek (Univ. of Warsaw) - "Gauge symmetries and their higher analogues"
 
The lectures will start from the introductory level and build up to the research level. They will be followed by tutorial and discussion sessions. The lectures will be held in hybrid format, being streamed on Zoom.
 
Registration is open between September 23rd and October 21st, 2024.
 
Support for accommodation and/or travel will be provided for a limited number of participants. Early registration is advised.

BWAM25: SEENET-MTP Workshop and Assessment Meeting

July 7-8, 2025, Bucharest, Romania

 

BWAM25 is a continuation of a series of international meetings called Balkan Workshops. The event will consist in scientific contribution sessions, as well as meetings of the two SEENET-MTP leading structures, the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Executive Committee (ExCom). BWAM25 will be organized as a satellite event to the Balkan Physical Union Congress (BPU12)

Location:  National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (UPB), at the 2nd floor of the UNSTPB Library ("UPB Library"). See details in venue for the BPU12 Congress.

Accommodation. The SEENET-MTP Council members and invited lecturers will be accommodated in Yesterday Hotel. See map and more information here.
