Department of Theoretical Physics, IFIN-HH

The Geometry and Physics Group is a research group in the Department of Theoretical Physics of
the Horia Hulubei Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering located in Bucharest-Magurele,
Romania.

The group currently consists of five senior members:

• Prof. Stefan A. A. Berceanu (emeritus)
• Prof. Mihai Visinescu (emeritus)

and four junior members:

• Mrd. Jakub Filipek (associate member from the Dept. of Physics of U. Warsaw and IMPAN)

The group works closely with the Simion Stoilow Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy and participates in a number of national, regional and European initiatives and actions:

• The Trans-Carpathian Seminar [TCS] (local organizers: Prof. C. I. Lazaroiu, Dr. E. M. Babalic)
• The Trans-Carpathian Student Circle [TCSC] (local coordinators: Prof. C. I. Lazaroiu, Dr. E. M. Babalic, Drd. V. O. Slupic, Mrd. A. Marin)
• The SEENET-MTP Network (national representative: Dr. E. M. Babalic)
• COST Action CA21106, "Cosmic Whispers in the Dark Universe" (national representatives: Prof. Sabin Stoica, CIFRA and Dr. E. M. Babalic)
• COST Action CA22113, "Theory Challenges" (national representatives: Prof. Cornelia Vizman, Dept. of Mathematics of West Univ. of Timisoara and Dr. E. M. Babalic).

The group occasionally opens Summer Internship Positions. Its senior members can act as MS or PhD degree supervisors or co-supervisors and can recommend students who they supervise for employment as Research Assistants within the Department of Theoretical Physics of IFIN-HH. Students employed as interns or Research Assistants have access to the facilities of the National Library of Physics, which is located close to DTP.
