Enjoy Bucharest and, if time permits, travel within Romania!

We encourage you to take advantage of your visit to enjoy Bucharest and other regions of Romania, especially if you can stay over the weekend. In particular, you can:

• attend the events of the George Enescu Festival (31 Aug. - 22 Sep. 2019).

• visit the Palace of Parliament.
  

• take a stroll down Calea Victoriei.
  

• visit Bucharest's Old Town (video) or one of the city's many parks and lakes.

• visit the city's many museums (see the full list), art galleries and creative spaces.

• enjoy the city's music festivals and thriving live music scene.

• during the weekend, consider a trip to the Bucegi Mountains (see info) along Prahova Valley (Valea Prahovei), where you can visit the cities of Sinaia (including the Peles Castle) or Busteni (wiki), hike in the mountains or enjoy a jeep tour organized by locals. A regional historical city is Brasov, where you can visit the Bran Castle. You can also try a weekend trip to one of Romania's Black Sea resorts. You can reach any of these destinations by train from Gara de Nord or you could rent a car.
